The secret to success is to start quickly and as completely as possible. Yes I agree that small goals are the key to greater success, but please, jump right in! waiting and hesitating on the ideas, and taking it slow only gives you time to fail and back away from starting. Visualize your destination first. Identify your goal. What is the reason your thinking about this change? What is motivating you to begin today? what do you hope you will gain by making this goal your destination? Don't skip the goal step, its what helps you identify where you want to go. Think though it in concrete terms, and create a vivid image. What is your ideal lifestyle or goal? If your having trouble, pic up some magazines, blog posts, photos of where you want to be, images of that concrete Dream!
My example: I want to be able to dress each am, feeling confident that all my clothes fit the way there designed to, and that I am confident in my clothing choices that Move me! I want the energy to move through life, to keep up at the busy life pace, surviving breeze fully all obstacles set in my path! I want to feel proud of who I designed my self into, and want to sense that holistic relaxation at the end of my day, that I did all I could to design my life the way I dream it to be! Concrete!
NOW, can we just jump right in? I know were eager, but wait, we can't!!!! It's still not quite time. Now, sit down, with all your concrete dreams, and answer this, WHY? Why? Repeat this process three to five time for all your items. Exploring the reasons behind your ideal lifestyle, will help guide you to a simple realization. Let it really sink in deeper for you. When you sit with your first ideal, and find your answer, then you are ready to move forward to your next Step..... Examine where you are. What are you doing today that keeps you off track? Are you stashing treats in the cupboard, are you starting your day off with an unhealthy routine, are you downsizing your importance in the world, are you depending on a behaviour to settle you and your mind? where Are you now? Chose what you want, not what you don't. Keep what you feel is helping you gain your dreams. What is there that you want to grow upon? Look at things, ask yourself if it creates joy for you, or if it fulfills you thoroughly. If it does something negative for you then remove it from your life. This is a perfect way to judge what you are hoping to change. If its smoking cessation, hold the cigarettes in your hand, and ask yourself if its giving you everything you crave to get you where you wish to be. holding it, allows your body to react to it, and perhaps you may respond a bit different to it. Try it. Are you happy when you overeat unhealthy foods? are you joyous when you lie around the couch, dreaming of moving more? Are you content with living cluttered, in a home full of disorganization and Mess? Let it speak to you, then once it does, take the plunge, and embark on your new lifestyle, One step at a time. Shift your mind, Shift your life. You got what it takes to shift towards your dreams. Its a matter of jumping right in and starting this quickly! you will never regret starting! PS.... I love the saying If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always got. This morning, January 1st, my husband and three kids woke, and he cooked a glorious breakfast of bacon, eggs, and pancakes. It was then that I needed this quote the most. I found my hearty, healthier choice and did something a tad bit different today. I also took another necessary step, and i did a 5k New years Day Shuffle! All to jump right in. I needed to start, to begin to believe that my journey is my choice. Here goes 2017! Shifting my actions to get different results!!! Cheers to each of you!!!!!
